CHURCH - "A SPIRITUAL LIGHTHOUSE"
CHURCH - A SPIRITUAL LIGHTHOUSE
When our church was started almost 19 years ago, we wanted a name that would describe what a church was supposed to be. A name on a church doesn't save anyone, but we wanted people to know just by looking at our name what we were all about. In the Bible, the church was called, "the way, the church of God, the church of the living God, churches of Christ, church of the Gentiles and churches of the saints."
Someone brought up the name, "Lighthouse." When I thought about it, that described exactly what a church is supposed to do. The first thing a church is to do is to shine the light of Jesus and the Bible, warning people of the rocks of sin and of Hell. Then, if someone doesn't see the light or if they do not take heed to the light and get to close to the rocks, the people in the lighthouse are there to rescue them. They are not there to condemn them now or preach now. They just bandage their wounds and try to help them to salvage the rest of their lives.
I believe that is what God does with us, and what we are to do to help others. Yes, as a Pastor, I will preach and cry aloud of all the rocks the Devil puts in our way to destroy our lives. Then, if they don't see or listen, I will be there to help them recover and go on from there.

THOUGHTS
The thoughts our children think is so important and the bad part of it is most of us don’t know what they are thinking most of the time. Their thoughts will either help them to do great things, or their thoughts will destroy them. We need to use this lesson to help change their life.
Day 1 – What our children think about they will become.
Prov 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
-We must help our children with their thoughts, because they will become what they are thinking. (Good and bad)
-This principle should be taught and retaught every day.
Day 2 - If you are righteous, then your thoughts will be righteous.
Prov 12:5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
Day 3 - God hates the thoughts of the wicked.
Prov 15:26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.
Day 4 - The diligent think good and have plenty.
Prov 21:5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.
Day 5 – If we think foolishly it is wrong.
Prov 24:9 The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.
Many people say it is ok to think things that are bad just as long as we don’t do them. That is wrong and eventually they will do and become what they are thinking
Day 6 – If you have thought evil, put your hand on your mouth and don’t say it.
Prov 30:32 If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.
-Ask God to forgive you of the thought, but don’t speak it. Just tell it to God.
Day 7 – Here is how you fix your thoughts
Prov 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
-The best way to control your thoughts is to commit your works to God. When you are working on what you are supposed to work on, then your thoughts are already set, established, and hardened like concrete.
PARENTS NEED TO WORK ON KNOWING WHAT IS GOING ON IN THE MIND OF YOUR CHILDREN. (If you don’t know what they are thinking, you can’t help them.)
Prov 20:5 Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out. (time, care, attention, love, openness, grace)
IF YOU KNOW THE BIBLE, YOU CAN KNOW WHAT THEY ARE THINKING.
Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME?
WHY DID YOU NOT TELL ME?
I hope this poem will cause you to tell someone how they can go to Heaven before they die.
I stood in line on judgement day to kneel before the Lord.
In hopes that He would gladly say, “Well done, Here’s your reward.”
But as I stood there all alone
surrounded on all sides,
My hands did shake as friends were tossed to flames that never die.
And they said, “Why did you not tell me about this final plan?”
“Why did you not tell me about
the Son of man?”
The millions cried as all hope died! “We thought you were our friend!”
Now friend, if while this poem you read, some faces you recalled,
Of loves ones who are yet undone who on Jesus have not called,
Go tell them now before too late,
the Gospel you know well.
Their unbelief may seal their
fate eternally in Hell.
And they’ll say, “Why did you not tell me about this final plan?”
“Why did you not tell me about
the Son of Man?”
The millions cried as all hope died!
“We thought you were our friend!”
“We thought you were our friend!”

CHILDREARING
They say you never know how good you did rearing your children until you see how they rear their children.
How many things did you instill in them that they will instill in their children?
What did the wisest man in the world teach his son about rearing children?
DAY 1 - Train up a child
Prov 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
To exercise; to discipline; to teach and form by practice; as, to train the militia to the manual exercise; to train soldiers to the use of arms and to tactics. Abram armed his trained servants.
6. To break, tame and accustom to draw; as oxen.
Anytime you want to teach something to your child, you need to teach them by practice.
We know that in sports, we know that with music, we know that with our pets, we know that with math, but when it comes to obedience, we don’t get it.
DAY 2 - Foolishness is there, and only a spanking will get it out.
Prov Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
We do our children a disservice when we do not lovingly, correctly, discipline them.
DAY 3 - Children need correction, and it won’t kill them.
Prov 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
Correction – to make them correct. Don’t we want them to be correct?
DAY 4 - Spankings and teaching give wisdom, but don’t leave a child alone.
Prov 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
Go to your room!
Timeout? What is that?
DAY 5 - If you bring up a servant delicately, he will become a son.
Prov 29:21 He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
2 Sam 22:36 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.
Ps 18:35 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.
DAY 6 – Even a child is known by what he does.
Prov 20:11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
What do people say about our children? Even a child is known…
DAY 7 – If you raise a wise child you will have great joy.
Prov The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.
Prov 31:28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

Wed. Bible Studies: What My Children Must Know (Week 10)
YOU MUST FIND THE RIGHT MATE.
The biggest decision anyone ever makes is the decision to trust Christ as their Saviour. That will make sure we go to Heaven and that we miss hell.
The second biggest decision anyone ever makes is who they marry. That can determine whether someone will have heaven on the earth and miss hell on earth.
It cannot be exaggerated too much, a good marriage is one of the most important things you can ever have. It all starts out with who you marry.
1.) Living in a bad, little place is better than living with a bad woman.
Prov 21:9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
Prov 25:24 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house.
2.) It is better to live in the wilderness than with a bad woman.
Prov 21:19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
Son, there is not much worse than a brawling woman.
Son, a big, rich, wonderful house is not good enough to make up for what you will get in a brawling woman. BRAWL'ING, n. The act of quarreling.
I love strong willed women. They don’t bother me. I know I am stronger, and most of the time with strong willed women, they are very capable, and just need a strong leader so they can follow. Many woman have to lead, because they husband won’t.
A strong willed woman is totally different than a brawling woman.
3.) When you find a wife, you find a good thing.
Prov 18:22 Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
God said whoso findeth a wife. That is “a” singular. That doesn’t man many wives, or just any wife. I believe that means “a” wife, and the wife, the one that God picked out for you.
4.) If you get a prudent wife, you have gotten her from the Lord.
Prov 19:14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD.
When you get a wife that is prudent, a wife that is wise all the time, in all thing, you have a great wife, and she is from the Lord.
5.) Don’t get a wife that will be a nag, (drip, drip, drip)
Prov 19:13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
Drip, drip, drip, drip, drip…….that sound can be very annoying, and doesn’t ever fix anything.
Ladies, the drip, drip, or nag, nag is annoying, and doesn’t work.
6.) Only God can find you a virtuous woman. You better wait on God.
Prov 31:10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
7.) The virtuous woman will be trusted by her husband and will do him good all the time.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
Let’s do all we can to help our kids pick the right mate.

Wed. Bible Studies: What My Children Must Know (Week 9)
SOWING AND REAPING
Sowing and reaping is a very simple concept. It is also a simple concept to teach to children.
This truth can be taught by getting some seeds, and naming them disobedience, pride, rebellion and then planting them. They they will see what comes up.
That will give them a visual lesson of the spiritual truth you are trying to teach them.
Most proverbs are sowing and reaping.
You reap what you sow.
You reap more than you sow.
You reap after you sow.
What you sow, or put in the ground or your life, it will come back on you.
There are consequences for what you do.
There is nothing you can do to get out of it.
You better start right away sowing a new, good crop.
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
God sees all you do, and will make sure people are punished for what they do.
Even thou you are saved, God will still see and spank His children.
God loves us and knows what is best for us. Trust Him, and obey Him.
The best teacher is not experience. Learn from someone else’s experience.
God gave us the Bible for “ensamples” to learn from what other people did wrong and right so we can just do right!!!
Day 1 – The wicked fall by their own wickedness.
Prov 11:5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
Day 2 – The seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
Prov 11:21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
Day 3 – We sow with our mouth and reap the good or the bad.
Prov 13:2 A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.
Day 4 – If we work hard, then we will reap leadership.
Prov 12:24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
Day 5 – When we are bad, bad will come on us.
Prov 13:17 A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is health.
Day 6 – What we sow in our friends, we will reap in our friends.
Prov 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
Day 7 – Evil will chase and run after sinners, but good comes to those that do good.
Prov 13:21 Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.
THERE ARE HUNDREDS MORE PROVERBS THAT TEACH SOWING AND REAPING
Prov 12:21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.
Prov 13:10 Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.
Prov 13:18 Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.
Prov 15:4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
Prov 15:6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
